As you know, the situation changes daily. We’re working on our COVID FLEXIBILITY PLAN, which will position us to pivot quickly if and when restrictions and health concerns allow gatherings.
This is where we are now:
A PAUSE in future planning. The shows we had scheduled for the fall remain on our calendars, but we will not be selling tickets, individual or season. Should we be able to mount these productions, you’ll be second to know (our artists, of course, will be first!).
OUTSIDE THE BOX THINKING has us planning for several possibilities. We hope to serve up some theatrical offerings in new and exciting ways that are very different from what Open Book has done thus far. We are digging into our mission TO PROMOTE CONNECTION THROUGH THEATRICAL STORYTELLING, and imagining new ways to do this that will serve our community during these unprecedented times.
WORKING TO STAY FINANCIALLY SOLVENT. We’ve worked hard the past 6 years to successfully end every single season in the black. We’re hoping to do that again this year, but everything is upside down. When we have no way to earn an income, we must rely solely on donations and grants to pay building expenses, staff salaries, and more. We know that you, too, may be tightly stretched. But if you are in a position to give, every dollar counts for us these days and will keep us strong and poised to keep moving forward with the programming you love. DONATE HERE
CONTINUED ONLINE CONNECTIVITY. We’re keeping in touch with you via email and social media, offering fun things like our retrospective, silly videos, our ReCreation challenge, and our audience choice awards
