Open Book Theatre Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, handicap, religion, national origin or any other basis prohibited by applicable law. Open Book has committed itself to the work of Anti-Racism, which includes the practice of race-transcendent and color-conscious casting, a commitment to diversity in our creative teams, and a commitment to including stories from BIPOC/LatinX communities.
Other information:
All plays are being streamed live on Facebook, and should be appropriate for the medium. Open Book doesn’t shy away from plays that challenge its audience, but reserves the right to edit or cancel a show that does not honor our mission (to promote connection through theatrical storytelling), contradicts our anti-racist work, creates an unsafe environment for the artists or audience, or is in some other way not in line with our values. If there is any concern from Open Book staff or the others on the creative team we will work together to resolve the conflict.
Technical support: Open Book will provide the Zoom for the performances and tech rehearsals. We may be able to help provide images for virtual backgrounds and some basic sound effects, but costuming, lighting, props etc should be things that the creative team can creatively supply on their own. Part of the challenge of this festival is the limitations of the virtual format, and the fact that we’re all working remotely!
